"I can offer some info on the Timberlake Station. In 2000, I visited Dick Timberlake who lived in the old family home west of Timberlake Station. I was researching SMALLs and they and some Timberlakes intermarried. While driving around the area, pointing out this and that, He told me about Timberlake Stop. The Timberlakes were large, well to do landowners and sold some land for the right of way but there was a condition to the sale. The railroad was required to stop twice daily at Timberlake "stop" so the Timberlake kids (And any others in the area, no doubt) could ride the train to and from school in Lexington. There was never an actual station there -- just a bench with a cover over it for a time. Since it was an official stop, it was designated by the railroad on maps of the area and is still seen on some recent state highway maps. It was just north of the intersection of Rte 22 and the east west road that goes by the old Timberlake home." Rick Paddock
