new historic marker on September 2007 at the location of the former Parsons Depot: the two-sided marker related a brief history of the “Pea Vine” A Ghost Railroad on one side and “Parsons – A Railroad Town“ on the other.

Footnote:

Station numbers are referred to NC&STL Railway, P&M Division, Time Table No. 170, April 29, 1951, pg. 11.

Jackson Depot:  The Tennessee Midland Railroad opened its doors at the Jackson Depot in June 1888 and was there until 1906 when it was moved 200 yards east of its location to be used as a general freight office. The present depot was then built by NC&STL Railway in 1907. Across the street from the depot in the year 1901, a hotel built by Mr. Neely. Today it may be seen "Neely House."  Housed in the depot baggage room is an 11 by 20 foot HO scale model railroad layout built in 1995 by volunteer labor. In early 2003, the depot was extensively renovated, following damage suffered in a devastating tornado.  On July 14, 2007, the depot became 100 year celebration of the NC&STL Railway Jackson Depot 1907-2007.
