Wilma Frances Parks Carrell
Wilma Frances Parks Carrell, 83, of Somerville died May 20, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Services were held May 23 at Somerville First United Methodist Church, with burial at Hopewell Cemetery in Gleason. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home Main Chapel in Somerville had charge. The wife of Everett E. Carrell, well-known Fayette County agent before his death in 1976, Mrs. Carrell served as a depot agent for the NC&STL Railway (later L&N Railroad) in Somerville in earlier years and was an active member of the community before her recent illness. She was a devoted member of the Somerville First United Methodist Church, a member of the Chancel Choir, the Christian Activity Center Committee, the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class, the Senior NTO Club and the United Methodist Women. She was a world traveler and an avid bridge player who enjoyed sewing and participation in the local HomemakerÃ-s Club Garden and Arts Club and Fayette County Historical Society. She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews and their children. The family requests that any memorials be directed to the Wilma Carrell Memorial Fund at Somerville First United Methodist Church.Do you have any information regarding Wilma's NC&STL employee?
